Our practice has a long history of providing vascular interventions to the community. The first arteriogram was performed in 1967 by Dr. Donald Kenneweg, one of the founding members of our radiology practice. Over the years, fellowship-trained interventional radiologists came to the practice starting with Dr. Michael McDermott in 1997. Dr. McDermott and his fellow interventional radiologists went on to build the Department of Interventional Radiology, one of the most responsive and dedicated service lines at Mary Washington Healthcare. In January 2007, this physician group opened the doors to VIVA, offering same day interventional procedures previously only available at the hospital in a more convenient outpatient setting. VIVA is the only outpatient interventional radiology practice in the Fredericksburg region. In the years of 2009 and 2010, VIVA expanded its services with the hiring of Drs. Victor D’Addio and Larry Koenig III. Drs. D’Addio and Koenig are the region’s only fellowship trained board certified vascular surgeons and offer a full range of comprehensive vascular surgery services. As a multispecialty practice, comprised of interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons, we are able to provide comprehensive vascular care in addition to a full complement of interventional radiology services. VIVA is a wholly owned subsidiary of RAF (Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg). We are located in the Professional Plaza at Lee’s Hill and aim to bring many same day interventional procedures to the outpatient setting as a convenience to you, our patients.
