Dr. Skidmore was born and raised in Virginia. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 18 in Richmond, attended St. Christopher’s School, the University of Virginia, and received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
From a young age, he developed a love for science and helping people. “As an Eagle Scout, I found a love for serving others and honing skills that I hoped to one day use in first aid or wilderness rescue.” He knew he wanted a family and to stay close to his roots in Virginia, so rather than become a forest firefighter or search area rescue pilot, he decided to become a physician and serve the community that raised him.
When he’s not working, Dr. Skidmore enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. Walking, hiking and trips to the beach are among their favorite activities.
