This specialized procedure is designed for patients with liver tumors as the primary or major site of disease. Using millions of tiny radioactive beads called SIR-Spheres Y-90 resin microspheres, SIRT delivers high doses of radiation directly to the liver tumors via the hepatic artery, minimizing exposure to healthy liver tissue and maximizing effectiveness.
