FREDERICKSBURG, VA – June 28, 2019 – This July, Virginia Interventional and Vascular Associates (VIVA) is bringing awareness about uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) to the Fredericksburg community, just in time for Uterine Fibroid Awareness Month. Uterine fibroids affect up to 80% of women in their lifetime. VIVA is educating the community about the minimally invasive, highly effective option for the treatment of uterine fibroids.
Endorsed by the American College of Gynecology, UFE has fewer negative side effects and provides faster recovery than surgical options.

During the month of July, VIVA is offering two free resources to women that will help them recognize the symptoms of uterine fibroids, including a video campaign to introduce the symptoms, and a printable checklist they can take with them to their OB-GYN.
